December might be my favorite month of the year. It’s merry, cheery, hopeful, busy and rushed, and full of anticipation and excitement. I thrive in December. This month was made for me. So without further ado, here are my favorites from the month.
- FRIENDS. How have I not watched this show until now?! It’s right up there with Gilmore Girls for my favorite show – and I’m only in season 6. I’m emotionally invested and I will murder you if you give anything away. I’m almost ashamed of how quickly I’ve binge-watched the show, but not really.
I was in NYC over Christmas break and made it a priority to go to the corner of Grove and Bedford just to get a glimpse of the Friends apartment building. Yep, that’s how intense this obsession is.
- Darling Magazine. I don’t know if you’ve heard about this company yet, but if you haven’t, please do yourself a favor and go check them out right now. I love Darling and what they stand for. The magazine is my new favorite thing and their blog just as incredible. I’m all for strengthening and placing value on women.
I found Darling by scrolling through my Instagram explore page. They had just posted about a giveaway contest so I clicked the photo, followed all the steps to enter, then spent a few minutes scrolling through their feed. I went to sleep, woke up the next morning and had completely forgotten about the contest. That afternoon, I was tagged in a photo saying that I won the contest. My prize was a beautiful bag by Parker Clay (again, such a cool company doing GOOD things that you need to go check out). It was my very own Christmas miracle.
- Wrapping presents. We all know I’m obsessed with black. Well, this year I decided to keep the whole minimal/black and white theme with my wrapping. I did throw in some gold, cause gold. Duh. I’m a pro gift wrapper and my family knows I am not humble about this fact. Thanks to Target, I took my wrapping to a whole new level this year.
- Target. Okay, this is more of an all-the-time-forever-and-always-never-letting-go kind of favorite, but the amount of times I went into Target this month is disturbing. Target basically sponsors my life. If you don’t have the Cartwheel app – DOWNLOAD IT NOW. I love that thing. But here’s what I’m most proud, in December, I finally mastered the extreme feat of entering Target with a few items on my list and leaving the store with ONLY THOSE SAME ITEMS. I know. Big deal. I’ve had my eye on some winter decor since before Thanksgiving, but I made a promise to myself that I would wait until it went on sale to buy any of it. Those items are now proudly on display in my room because I kept the promise (go me).
Thanks December. Don’t tell the others, but you’re still my favorite.
